ORIGIN NARRATIVE

Why 22?

Growing up playing basketball, I always wore #22 but it was always more than just a number to me. Both me and father's favorite number was #2 so I put 2 and 2 together to get 22.  It's a representation of carrying my family with me and wearing the number all throughout elementary, middle school, high school, college, and now professional basketball represents my journey and the standard I held myself to on every possession, every morning shootaround, and every physical battle on the court.

But when life outside the gym collided with internal expectations, intense mental pressure, and the loss of family and friends that led to grief and depression, I learned that physical grit cannot repair a wounded spirit on its own. So as someone who knows about struggling with mental health while dealing with the responsibilities of being a student-athlete and improving my general wellness, I am committed to helping those who face the same issues. This is not just a service for current or former students, athletes, or both, but rather a platform that helps all people in need in healing their mental headspace.

“22 Ways to Heal was created from a personal understanding that improving your mental health is a journey one day, one step, and one practice at a time. It’s the blueprint I needed when I felt the most tangled.”
