Rest Is Part of the Work
Rest is not something you have to earn
Why rest can feel uncomfortable
When your identity is tied to productivity, a break can feel like falling behind. But recovery is not the opposite of progress. It is part of maintaining the energy and attention that everyday life asks of you.
Recognize your signals
Irritability, trouble concentrating and feeling constantly drained can be signs that your current pace needs attention. These experiences can have many causes; if they persist, consider checking in with a healthcare professional.
Start with a small pause
Try protecting ten minutes without a task attached. Put your phone down, stretch, sit quietly or do something you genuinely enjoy. Notice what changes without demanding an instant result.
Set a realistic boundary
Rest may mean saying “I can do that tomorrow” or asking for help with a responsibility. You do not need to explain every boundary in detail.
Take this with you
Your worth is not measured by how exhausted you are. What is one form of rest you can make space for this week?
